aconitum vulparia Makes me want to ride to war and offer prayers to old goddesses. Gorgeous. Favorite track: Serpentine.

Lanna E As of writing this, I'm not finished with "Chrysalis". This goes beyond just music. It is healing! "Chrysalis" is just what I needed to calm the rage/frustration going on deep within me. The soothing tones calls the listener to pause, to take a breath, and to focus on healing what is inside you. Let Anilah's work center you and be a balm. Listen to it whole. Blessed be.

roma velas Anilah channels through her music so powerfully. The sounds feel oddly familiar and safe, like a fire beaconing from a distant mountain top, reminding
the soul to remember times long ago.

Serpentine 08:02
We went riding, through the valley, my dear Serpentine, heard you calling. She's leading me within, shows me wear I'm hidden, I'm almost there, my dear Serpentine I feel the pull, in all directions. I'm almost there, the water rises. I feel the pull, in all directions. I see your form in all perfection. Like the water running through my hands, you make me feel what I won't understand... We went riding, through the valley, my dear Serpentine, heard you calling.

The Loom 07:13
"I'm weaving you a remedy, so pulled by threads of ancestry, we've sown seeds of memory I'm braiding a new tapestry. Where is my altar, Who am I calling? Where is my altar, Where is my center? I took your ashes to the lake, I made a place of offering, I pulled my needle through your name, And let the water wash away... Where is my altar? Where is the center? Bloodline memory. Here is the altar, Here is the center."
6.
Ineffable 05:25
(Filling the well, Undoing the spells...) Shaping my original mind, Chasing this ineffable light, Weaving this immaculate design, Seeing through this darkening night.
7.
Ouroboros 03:44
"Shedding skin, we begin, a new way. The cosmos takes a breath, emerging creation. She decides what's next, eternal relation. She sees in the dark, she pulls me apart, I break on the shore, I reach toward... Unity."

about

In the words of Carl Jung: "Are we related to something infinite or not?" This was the underlying question as we worked on this album.

A continuation on the themes explored on the previous album "Warrior", "Chrysalis" explores ideas such as liminality, shadow work, individuation, and the evolution of consciousness.

about

Anilah British Columbia

The music of Anilah carries within it an expression of the elemental, cyclical, and regenerative forces of nature. Anilah is the unnamable, impersonal force behind the sound. Each melody is woven as threads into a larger tapestry of song, reminding you of your own medicine. Anilah is both beauty and darkness, shadow and light.
